A jewellery audience, not a general classifieds site

General classified sites carry jewellery alongside sofas and second-hand cars. Here, every visitor came for jewellery — and every seller has been identity checked.

    Quick answer

Is JewelleryTrader better than a general classifieds site for selling jewellery?

On a general classifieds site a jewellery advert competes with furniture and cars, sellers are anonymous, and there is nowhere to put a hallmark, certificate or registration. JewelleryTrader is jewellery only: every seller passes a photo ID check, hallmark and certification fields have their own place, collections can be advertised as one advert, and your business also gets a directory page that ranks in its own right.

    What you get

    • Every seller passes a photo ID check before publishing
    • Hallmark, certification and provenance have their own fields
    • Collection packages instead of eight near-identical adverts
    • A directory page for your business, not just a disposable advert
    • Buyers filtering by category, area, price and certification

Private sellers pay per advert, with the first one free after ID verification. Trade plans start at £29 a month, and the first 200 trade members get a free first year.

The first 200 trade members to join get their whole first year free — there is no charge at all until the 12 months are up, and you can cancel any time before renewal.

How it works for why not a general classifieds site?

Anonymous adverts are the whole problem

Most jewellery-buying scams on general sites work because nobody knows who placed the advert. Requiring photo ID matched against a live selfie removes that, which is why buyers here are more willing to travel and to pay a proper price for a well-described piece.

The fields exist because the subject is jewellery

Hallmark, certification, gemstone details, carat weight, provenance, condition, whether box and papers are included — all of these are proper fields with proper filters, not free text you hope a buyer reads.

An advert ends; a business page does not

A classified advert disappears when it expires. Your directory page stays, builds up its own search presence for your service and town, and keeps sending enquiries between collections.

Every seller here is identity checked

Before any jewellery advert goes live the seller passes a photo ID check matched against a live selfie. It takes a couple of minutes once, and it is the reason buyers here behave differently to buyers on free classified sites — they arrive expecting a real, traceable business rather than an anonymous phone number.

    Common questions

Can I advertise in both places?+

Of course — plenty of designers do. The difference tends to show in the quality of the enquiry rather than the quantity.

What does it cost to try?+

Nothing for the first year if you are one of the first 200 trade members to join. After that, plans start at £29 a month.

Do I have to pay anything to join right now?+

No. The first 200 designers, jewellery shops, valuers and jewellery service businesses to join get a completely free first year. You add a card so the subscription continues afterwards, but nothing is taken during those 12 months and you can cancel before renewal.

    Can I cancel?+

Yes, at any time from your dashboard. Your listing stays live until the end of the period you have paid for (or the end of your free year), and you are not charged again.

Will my business page show up on Google?+

Your page has its own web address and is submitted in our sitemap, so it can be found in search on its own — as well as through our directory pages for your service and your area.
